The induction of officers of the Chiang Kai Shek College Alumni Association 50th Council was held last February 7, 2020 at the Manila Hotel. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, the association has decided to celebrate in a simple yet elegant way.

Immediate Past President Jimmy See in his speech said “ Looking back at my 2 years as President, with the support of the school board, school administration leaders, and past presidents we were able to create an online platform and actively reconnect with our alumni. We actively raised funds for the construction of our new campus, organized academic medical lecture; we actively participated in events of our chapters both locally and abroad. We remembered and commemorated the contribution of our late principal Wong Chun Seng and the boy scouts who fought against the Japanese during WWII. It is also worth mentioning the Color Run last February 2019 which placed us in the map having nearly 20,000 participants. Together with our school officials, we celebrated the 80th founding anniversary of our alma mater with 3 cultural shows in Resorts World Manila. These achievements are not just the pride of the association, but the pride and glory of the whole alumni.”

“Tonight, I will step down as Alumni President, but my obligation and responsibility as a Chiang Kai Shek Alumnus will not end tonight. I hope that each and every alumnus can give back to our alma mater to show our love and support. Let us serve and contribute for the betterment of our school.”

“The incoming President, Mr. Benjamin Tan is a gentleman. He is an excellent alumnus with good morals, who (for many years) have worked hard for the association. He is dedicated and is deeply respected by his colleagues. I believe that under his leadership, the members and officers of the alumni will work harmoniously to bring the alumni association to greater heights. I would also like to invite our distinguished alumni to please continue to support and care for Chiang Kai Shek Alumni Association.”

President Benjamin Tan in his speech said “ Thank you to the alumni for the love that I have been elected as the President for the 50th Council. We promise to do our best and we will not waste the trust that you have given to us. “

“For decades, Chiang Kai Shek Alumni has always had one dream, that is to become a University. In the 60’s, during the 21st Founding anniversary of our alma mater, it was upgraded to Junior College. A few years later, it became a complete college and opened the Department of Chinese Literature and History. This is an overseas Chinese community, and it is also the first of its kind outside Singapore. The completion of the college building in Narra Street has gradually increased the number of college students. In 2015, B.S Accounting graduate, Eunice Millicent Ong Li got top 1 in the CPA Board examination.”
“The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) requires universities to have a research institute capable of awarding eight degrees. We now have four colleges and institutes. At the beginning of this century, Chairman John K. C. Ng donated 11.3 hectares of land in Cavite Silang. The land is now worth billions. Construction of the University started 2012. Soon, classrooms, offices, dormitories, auditoriums, sports fields and others will be completed. We are expecting to start accepting enrollments by year 2022. Soon, our dream will become a reality.”

“The school, Board of trustees and the alumni association are working hand in hand for the development of the school. The dream of becoming a university is the dream of all Chiang Kai Shek alumni for several generations and this dream will soon become a reality. Soon “Chiang Kai Shek University” will not only be known in the Chinese community, but in the whole Philippines then in the world. It will be a bright future for Chiang Kai Shek College.

That night President Benjamin Tan donated 10 million pesos for the Silang Campus construction, hoping that more alumni will be influenced and inspired to donate to our alma mater.

Citation award was given to alumni officers and members who had complete attendance for the monthly meetings of the 49th Council of the Alumni Association. A gratitude plaque was also given to our generous alumni who donated to the different scholarship funds of the association.

Alumni Vice President Joyce Dy thanked our distinguished guests for celebrating the occasion with us and also for the congratulatory message they published in the newspaper.

Alumni Vice President Alex Sy introduced Alumni Secretary General Grace Ho and Mr. Bernard Chua as masters of ceremony.

The affair was celebrated with song and dance performance by our alumni and students. Raffle was also drawn to add to the festivity. The event ended at 10pm.
